with historians Sam Webber and Arthur Moore
- leaving from the Bulkhead at north end of town
Saturday, June 30 at 10 am
Sunday, July 8 at 10 am
We will visit four locations along the waterfront and discuss the oil tankers and the steam boats that visited Hallowell in days gone by; the Hallowell-Chelsea bridge, and the businesses that thrived along the waterfront including Wingate Coal, the shipyards, the granite wharf and the ice houses.
We had an enjoyable time this morning listening to Sam Webber explain the history of the Hallowell’s waterfront. Delightful weather, interesting tales and a big thank you to the committee for providing this opportunity. Great job Sam!
