Area art collectors are invited to attend a live art auction fundraiser to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Harlow Gallery in downtown Hallowell!
The last live art auction organized by the Harlow Gallery was for the Slates Fire Relief Fund back in 2007 – so it’s only fitting that the auction will take place at Slates Restaurant! With Perry McCourtney as master of ceremonies and auctioneer, the auction will feature exceptional original art by some of the region’s finest artists. Expect fast paced fun, free refreshments and cash bar.
Sunday, July 21, 2013 (the day after OLD HALLOWELL DAY) 5-8pm at Slates Restaurant, 167 Water Street in Hallowell.
Those unable to attend may submit an absentee bid. This is a confidential, written maximum price for the artwork in which you are interested. A volunteer appointed by the auctioneer will bid on your behalf, in competition with the audience. If possible, they will acquire the lot on your behalf for less than your maximum bid. Written bids will be accepted until the day of the auction at noon. Email or call the Harlow Gallery with the item number, your maximum bid and your contact information.
Auction proceeds will help ensure that our nonprofit community gallery will be here in Hallowell promoting the arts to benefit all of central Maine for another 50 years, so don’t miss it!
