Vaughan Homestead open 1 – 4:30pm


Vaughan Homestead in Hallowell, Maine

There will be plenty to do at the Vaughan Homestead on Old Hallowell Day – have your silhouette paper portrait cut, play a game of croquet, hose down with the “Cascade” and antique hand pump fire engine, bring a picnic, visit with Old Fort Western’s Howard Company and listen to some music.

1-3pm — The first floor of the Vaughan Homestead will be open for self-guided tours. Come stroll through the gardens or sit on the front porch for an unparalleled view of the Kennebec River. The tours (limited numbers at a time) will go from 1-3pm.

1-4pm Fort Western Re-enactors – military muster – Howard Company. Demonstrations of toys, games, laundry, quill & ink writing and more!

1-4pm — Ruth Monsell will be cutting old fashioned paper silhouettes for $15:00, and

2-4:30 pm — live music performance Logan Johnston and Chris Poulson.
