Old Hallowell Day Eve


There is plenty to do in Hallowell on Friday, July 15th, the day before Old Hallowell Day, including a Lobster Roll Supper and Sing-along, an art show at the Harlow Gallery, a Haunted History Tour, Port City Sound Barber Shop Quartet in concert at City Hall, and the 24th Annual Cribbage Tournament.  Check out whats on tap (literally and musically) at The Liberal Cup, The Quarry Tap Room, The Maine House, Slates, Easy Street Lounge, The Kennebec Wharf and more!

Noon – 6 pm Summer Members’ Show & Sale – Harlow Gallery, 160 Water Street –  diverse selection of vibrant work by Maine artists. Buy local and support Maine’s creative economy. On view through July 23. Art can be purchased off the wall and taken home the same day.

5 – 7 pm Lobster Roll Supper plus Sing-along – St Matthews and St Barnabas Episcopal Church, 20 Union Street – Menu: Lobster Roll, Chips, Pickle, Beverage, Homemade Pie $15.00; or Hot Dog/Roll, Chips, Pickle, Beverage, Homemade Pie $8.00. After supper join us in the Sanctuary for a Hymn(plus) Sing-along

5:30 pm The 24th Annual Cribbage Tournament – The Wharf, Water Street – Come show off your best moves and strategy! The tournament is single elimination and you must sign up at The Wharf beginning at 5:30 pm. Play begins at 6 pm. $10 entry fee. Bring a cribbage board and deck of cards. No board and no cards = no play! $75 first prize and $50 second prize. Sorry, but play is limited to adults.

7 pm “Port City Sound” Barber Shop Quartet – Hallowell City Hall Auditorium Admission $10. Proceeds to benefit Row House.

7:30 – 9 pm Red Cloak Haunted History Tour of Hallowell – Join The Lady in the Red Cloak for a lantern lit walking tour of Hallowell. Discover the back streets and hidden stories of this “Antique Riverport”, its mysteries and haunts.
