Old Fort Western staff and the Howard Company will sail the fort’s reproduction 18th century bateau down from Old Fort Western to Hallowell and fire a 1 pound cannon volley from the shore near the north dock before landing around 11am. The company will interact with the public as they stroll around town in 18th century garb. They’ll fire the guns again when departing around 2pm.
Old Fort Western is an integral part of Hallowell’s history. From 1754 until 1797, Fort Western was located in Hallowell in the County of Lincoln.
